Hudson Yards Autograph

West Side Renegade
Hudson Yards did not need another gigantic glass-clad tower in the International Style. What this gigantic new development on the west side of Manhattan needed was, in fact, some of the texture of Manhattan. DF&A designed a hotel tower for Marriott that was quite slender, holding the skyline with style, not size. Using different materials and scales in its facade, the Hudson Yards Autograph brings the spirit of the old city to its newest neighborhood.
The Autograph Collection promises unique hotel experiences with a sense of place. One expression of place is view; DF&A offers memorable visuals from within and without the hotel. A visually striking inverted V column holds up the corner at the top of the building. A companion V column allows the structure to support a 25-foot-high, 40-foot-wide uninterrupted glass expanse, giving guests remarkable views over the Hudson River at sunset. The two columns together create an arresting grace note in the new skyline. An autograph of New York City itself.
